Thirty-two UMJ Midwifery Graduates Say Promise of Bachelor Degree
The Midwifery Study Program, Faculty of Medicine and Health, Muhammadiyah University, Jakarta ( ) held a Midwifery Bachelor Pledge Ceremony at the Dr. Auditorium. Syafri Guricci FKK UMJ, Monday (18/9/23).
In the event entitled " Become a Professional and Islamic Midwife " there were 32 graduates who took the pledge led by the Head of the UMJ Midwifery Study Program, Hamidah, AM. Kep.S.ST., M.KM. This promise was witnessed by Vice Chancellor I Dr. Muhammad Hadi, SKM., M.Kep., Dean of FKK UMJ, Dr. Dr. Muhammad Fachri Sp, P. FAPSR. FISR., Deputy Dean II FKK UMJ, Dr. Fatimah, SST MKM., Deputy Dean III FKK UMJ, Dr.dr. Atthariq Wahab., MPH and FKK UMJ Academic Community.
Head of the Midwifery Study Program, Hamidah, reported that this year's graduates reached 82%. “Of the thirty-nine students, thirty-two of them graduated on time. "With nine students receiving commendations, twenty-two graduates were very satisfactory, and one graduate was satisfactory, the average Grade Point Average (GPA) of graduates reached 3.37," explained Hamidah.
Dean of FKK UMJ, Dr. Dr. Muhammad Fachri, Sp.P. FAPSR. FISR., in his speech expressed his sense of pride and also advised midwifery graduates to have a new mandate. This mandate is to apply the knowledge and skills they have directly to the community, either in hospitals or in community health centers. Midwifery graduates are also required to have empathy capital.
“Becoming a midwifery graduate is not an easy thing. "This title is a new mandate, where there is responsibility, discipline, honesty and commitment," concluded Fachri.
On the same occasion, Vice Chancellor I Dr. Muhammad Hadi, SKM., M.Kep., emphasized that midwifery graduates must continue to the professional stage to become skilled midwives. "Professional education is mandatory in the world of health, especially if you want to become a practitioner. Professional education is inseparable from your education cycle. "With this, we will get a Registration Certificate (STR) so we can carry out health service activities," explained Hadi.
In another session, Afra Hadiyani, the best graduate of the UMJ midwifery study program with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.76, shared her experience of studying at UMJ and gave a message to midwifery students to be good at managing their time. “Of course you have to keep learning, because nothing can be done without learning. "I also apply proper time management to be able to always carry out two activities, studying and organizing," said Afra.
"I hope that the UMJ midwifery study program will continue to take further steps towards excellence, to achieve its vision and mission, namely producing skilled midwives," he added.
