Deputy Dean III of FIP UMJ Wins Doctoral Degree

 Deputy Dean III  , University of  Jakarta (FIP ), Azmi Al-Bahij, M.Sc., won a Doctorate in  at the Jakarta State University (  ) Postgraduate Program. The open session of the Doctoral program was held at UNJ, Tuesday (29/08/2023).

Carrying out a dissertation entitled The Influence of Personal Responsibility and Student Knowledge of Energy Concepts on Energy-Saving Behavior, the research was conducted based on a case study of UMJ Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) students. Energy demand will grow along with the increase in world population, such as coal, oil, gas, hydro, nuclear and renewable energy.

According to Azmi, in 2035, Asia will become the world's main consumer of fossil energy, with coal as the most sought-after energy in line with the rapidly increasing demand for electricity. "In fact, oil consumption will shoot up from 86 million to 100 million barrels per day in 2035," said Azmi.

From the results of his research, Azmi suggested that saving electricity can be done through a technological approach and human behavior. In this case, students as the younger generation play an important role in understanding the concept of energy and energy-saving responsible behavior. So it requires strong personal responsibility as well as high energy knowledge, and these must go hand in hand.

The achievement of the Doctoral degree received appreciation from the Dean of FIP UMJ, Prof. Dr. Iswan, M.Sc. He expressed his gratitude to UNJ and hoped that UNJ could provide guidance and direction as well as related regulations.

“UMJ and UNJ have always had a mental bond, because formerly the former vice-chancellor of UMJ came from UNJ, until now many UMJ FIP lecturers are pursuing further education at UNJ. God willing, the birth of this additional Doctorate can add and strengthen the existing study programs at UMJ," said Iswan.

Dr. Azmi Al-Bahij, M.Sc., was declared the 4966th Doctoral graduate at UNJ with a very satisfactory predicate. The Doctoral Promotion Open Session was attended by Prof. Dr. Wandani Rahayu, M.Sc., (Chairman of the Session), Prof. Dr. I Made Putrawan and several other examiners, Prof. Dr. Agung Purwanto, M.Si (Co-Promoter), Prof. Dr. Iswan, M.Sc., family, and relatives of FIP UMJ lecturers.
