Two UMJ Deans Appointed as Professors
Muhammadiyah Univertiy Jakarta inaugurated two new Professors, namely the Dean (FIP), Prof. Dr. Iswan, M.Si., and Dean of (FISIP), Prof. Dr. Evi Satispi, M.Sc. This inauguration event took place at the Dr. Auditorium. Syafri Guricci Faculty of Medicine and Health (FKK), Tuesday, (26/09/2023).
Prof. Evi Satispi, M.Sc., was confirmed as a Professor in the Field of Public Administration Based on the Decree of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 37010/M/07/2023 concerning Promotion to the Academic Position of Lecturer, Dr. Evi Satispi was promoted to Professor in the field of Public Administration with a credit score of 852.50.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Iswan M.Sc., was confirmed as Professor in the Field of Educational Management Administration Science based on the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 37256/M/07/2023 concerning Promotion of Lecturer Academic Positions. Iswan is the 36th Professor in 2023 with a credit figure of 1,050.50.
At the inauguration, Evi delivered the formulation of a disaster risk mitigation policy based on data science and forecastingmethods as the title of the scientific oration she delivered. Forecasting methods combined with big data can provide early warning in facing and handling disasters that occur in Indonesia.
“ Forecasting can pattern repeated events by looking at past and present events so that it can predict future events. "Disaster forecasting is very important in disaster mitigation efforts, because it can help the government to take preventive action, organize evacuations, and allocate resources effectively," said Evi.
Evi formulates risk mitigation policies using a forecasting method by looking at past data. Then, this data is strengthened with data science sources in the form of tools including velocity, volume, value, visualization, veracity, variety, virality, viscosity, validity and vocabulary. Based on the results of these data, innovations and policy interventions can be carried out to be able to treat disaster risk mitigation.
On the same occasion, Iswan delivered a scientific oration entitled New Paradigm of Learning Systems and School Leadership, as an Effort to Improve Teacher Performance from an Islamic Perspective.
" Learning Management Systems in schools are very useful for improving the standards of the learning process in order to maximize the effectiveness of achieving learning goals. "The combination of education implementation policies in the digital era must be supported by technological development in organizing the education management administration system," said Iswan.
The use of technology for learning in schools can share many characteristics with the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) used by educational institutions. The new paradigm of the education system must also be supported by educators who are able to be role models for students through speech, expressions and sayings.
UMJ Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ma'mun Murod, M.Si., congratulated the inauguration of the Dean of FISIP and FIP. “This achievement is certainly extraordinary, and should be used as an example by other lecturers. UMJ is currently preparing seven associate professors to become professors. "Of course this will make UMJ proud, which God willing, is in the process of achieving superior accreditation," said Ma'mun.
The head of the Diktilitbang Council, Prof. Dr. Armai Arief, M.Ag. He stated that Dikti encouraged Chancellors to increase the number of professors at their respective universities. “We want to achieve an internationally certified university. Minimum 10% of Professors from all lecturers. Majlis Dikti also has a preparatory school program to become a Professor and a 5000 Doctoral program. "We hope the Chancellor can support this program," said Armai.
Also present was the General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu'ti, M.Ed., Head of LLDIKTI Region III, Prof. Dr. Toni Toharuddin, S.Sc., M.Sc., UMJ Deputy Chancellor and Dean, invited guests from Muhammadiyah University Purwokerto, Muhammadiyah University Yogyakarta, Muhammadiyah Education University Sorong, Vice Rector II of Pancasakti University, Chair of the Indonesian FISIP Communication Forum, Member Commission VI DPR RI, Primus Yustisio, and those who cannot be mentioned one by one.
